"I use the Nuvi 255 daily in the Los Angeles area. My work requires me to go to different addresses and locations. The Nuvi 255 is easy to use, easy to carry, and works like a charm. Miss a turn or fwy exit and it says, "recalculating" and within 3-8 seconds later the Nuvi 255 gives you new directions to get you to where you are going. Fantastic! The Nuvi 255 has TTS or Text To Speech so it announces the actual Street Names! A must have in my opinion.
I do find that the Nuvi 255's map address is about 50 feet off from the actual house or building. This is only a minor drawback. The Nuvi 255 does tell me which side of the street the street number address is on which is a great feature. I find it helpful in rain, fog, or at night when visibility is poor to find the address.
The upper left hand corner of the screen tells me how much further to go before the next turn. This is very helpful particularly if the actual street name sign is not easily seen, missing or not visible.
The points of interest database is huge! Great when I find myself in an unfamiliar area or neighborhood and I am looking to get something to eat.
I am very happy with my purchase. One advice: Go to Garmin.com and upgrade the software to 4.60 as the voice volume, voice quality, and traffic (if you use GTM25 charger/antenna) works much better."
